Where children discover learning through play

Our sessions are available for funded two, three and four year olds. There are no restrictions on session availability and no additional charges will be added. Extra hours may also be purchased for £5.50 per hour. 


Funded sessions for three and four year olds

Funded Early Learning sessions will support your child with their learning and development and will also give them a head start when they begin school. All three and four year olds are entitled to up to 15 hours of  Early Years Free Entitlement for 38 weeks of the year.


From September 2017 all children aged three and four with working parents will be entitled to an additional 15 hours of free childcare. 

Both parents need to either work at least 16 hours a week or earn at least £120 per week.

Lone parent family: parent would need to earn at least the equivalent of 16 hours at minimum wage level (for over 23's £150 per week).

Funded sessions for two year olds

Some two year olds in Brighton & Hove will be entitled to 15 hours of Early. Make sure your child does not miss out on the opportunity to play, learn and make friends. 

If you receive one or more of the following benefits, your child may be entitled to a free place.

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
  • Income-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Child Tax Credit (but not Working Tax Credit) and have an annual income not over £16,190
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

Children are also entitled to a free place if they are looked after by the local authority (eg foster care) or adopted.

A notice period of one week is required for funded sessions so please let us know in advance if you are intending to make any changes to your child's attendance.
